Dr. Michael Dattner was born and raised in Queens, NY. Having always wanted to be a veterinarian, he attended Cornell University's College of Agriculture and LIfe Sciences and earned his B.S. in 1990. He then continued at Cornell to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After graduation, he became Associate Veterinarian at a large, prestigious small animal hospital on Long Island, NY. There he developed a special interest in surgery and dermatology. In his spare time, Dr. Dattner enjoys downhill skiing, tennis, water sports and photography.
His wife, Dr. Silke Bogart was raised in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Growing up with a Great Dane, a Newfoundland, and a horse, she developed an early interest in helping animals. She attended Tufts University and earned her B.A in 1988. She then attended Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1992. Dr. Bogart then took a veterinary position with a noted internal medicine specialist in Buffalo, NY. Thereafter, she practiced at two prominent hospitals on Long Island, NY where she gained a special interest in ultrasound and internal medicine. She is also the hospital's USDA accredited veterinarian. Dr. Bogart continues to horseback ride in her spare time in addition to downhill skiing, playing the piano and violin, traveling, and ballroom dancing.
Drs. Dattner & Bogart have two children together, Alexa and Kyle, their cat "Kitty", and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel "Chloe".
